Music Review: "Jimmy James" by Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys is my one of the most favorite old school New York Hip Hop artists. I saw their performance at Fukuoka in around 1990's they came to Japan. But we can not see Beastie Boys again... Because MCA is already gone... I was experience to the Beastie Boys music told me from my skater friends. I met their sounds from album Check Your Head. I started purchased their vinyl 12 inches from that encounter.

Flyer Design: Minami Masato Live at Cotton Dancer

This is my latest flyer design work for the Bar Cotton Dancer. I love the silk screen poster of a psychedelic movement which was in fashion late in the 60s. And I also like the propaganda poster of a communist country. By using the ink of the fluorescent color which employed the characteristic of the silk screen print efficiently, the psychedelic poster has heightened the eye catch effect. A psychedelic poster carries out the visualization of the hallucination by LSD, takes LSD, and can appreciate an art like a kaleidoscope like the mandala. The vision effect by LSD will not be acquired so much, since I created this flyer without taking LSD. Since I did not have the cost which makes a silk screen, I decided to utilize Risograph. Risograph is the printing machine which a Riso company made in Japan. It can print in a high speed, budget prices, and the special color like a laser beam printer. Risograph can use fluorescence pink and a fluorescence orange. Riding of ink is bad like Toppan Printing, and a photograph has the noise blurred like a newspaper. Since I had arranged the photograph of a deep color at the back, the color on the back was transparent and the surface logo portion failed in me. Paper is using the bad thin paper of quality like recycled paper, and became the result which has the flavor of tactile feeling coarsely in the bottom. Since it brews the feeling which is completely different from the printed matter of offset printing in a general coated paper in the present age, it becomes a good eye catch.

About Minami Masato
Masato Minami is an artist representing Japan of Folk-Rock. He reached 70 years old in born one in 1944. He is the keyman who visited America before the psychedelic movement and inherited the hippie culture to Japan. He is a singer whom the scenery that perform many live in Japan or Thailand and children are playing out in the fields under the tree suits very well. I am looking at his live from ten years or more before. "Niji no Misaki Matsuri" performed in Aso looked at his live first. I have appreciated his live at the festival since then every year, and was allowed to soften a feeling very much.

It was astonished and amazed by me! It is that the car of such ideal HOT ROD and RAT ROD existed!

A tent and an antique kitchen utensil are put on a trailer, and it travels in the ground of a frontier district in search of a place at death. I visualized such a figure and was able to be immersed in a fortunate feeling.

I have experience it became impossible to escape from the parking lot of an outdoor festival by a small car repeatedly. Truly, since it is troublesome, it cannot go all over a town, but it is an automobile very attractive to the middle age which piled up age.

Plenty tuna, onion , mustard and mayonnaise are mixed. Melt cheese and salad sands an English bread. Hard potato chips were served. It's very good taste. I like it.

I took this photo for my friend's diner menu. I making restaurant menu work by Photoshop and Illustrator. I have to take meals and beverage picture first. This Cheese Dog served French fries so much YAMMY!! 

I think some cheese mix and bake into the pan. Toast special bread and sausage. 

I used sun light because I don't have flash light. It was taken by PENTAX k-r. 

HABIT LUNCH A5 Flyer Design & Printing Keep on an American

I made lunch flyer of HABIT STORE an American restaurant. Size is A5 (148mm x 210mm). Before, I introduced this diner serving large burger. This diner's owner beginning lunch time this time. If you living close to Kokura, Kitakyushu-City, I recommend this restaurant. You can drink beer in daytime. You will satisfaction this burger volume in other American restaurant. Please take care every Tuesday is closed. Lunch time is 12PM to 3PM. HABIT STORE have not rest time continue diner time. HABIT STORE close 1AM. So you can drink to late time. You can choice four burgers including salad and fried potato with drink or weekly one plate including weekly meal, mashed potato, salad and rice with drink. price is 950 yen. You can choice 12 drinks. Owner and stuff can speak English little bit. Sometimes I saw few foreigner coming this diner. The left side ad written Japanese lower means "Not only big". The right ad written all Japanese. Because this flyer for Japanese. Owner will this flyer posting to around the home by himself. You can check the location about HABIT STORE place.

Block Copy: an American Diner's Lunch Menu

This is the lunch menu of an American diner which I operated. It finished in the style of a vintage with the title menu which uses the script font of the 1950s. A background emphasizes a high-class feeling in deep brown. The photograph of hamburger sandwiches is close photographed with a zoom lens. The both-sides side was irradiated with the stroboscope flash. Three cooking photographs on the back had a weak light. The logo design of beer was introduced last time. The client offered the menu, the explanatory note of cooking, and the dish. The price of the charge of photography is 1,000 yen per piece. It becomes 8,000 yen the charge of photography with eight photographs. The size of this menu is B4. The charge of design composition work changes to 10000 yen per one side in such volume. This charge is 28000 yen in the charge of block-copy creation, and photography cost. Separately, 3,000 yen was required of printing cost and lamination cost (six-set creation).

American Diner Typography and Caligrapy

This is the typography and calligraphy which I designed. The font used Sarah Script of The Letter Head Font. I designed by Adobe Illutrator for the diner which my friend manages. The shadow and the brightness of this script were created using pass. The scroll calligraphic design was also drawn by pass and pen of the Illustrator.
