Flyer and Poster Design: FUTARO Acoustic Live at Cotton Dancer

This is my latest Flyer and Poster design works. Size is A3 and A6, printed to the natural paper and cardboard paper printed by RISOGRAPH. The coloring is the fluorescence orange and the navy to the A3 poster, and the vermilion and navy to the A6 flyer. Imaged from the late 1960's Psychedelic posters and the modern old school Reggae and Dub posters, the album cover artworks and the flyers. The top's logo is the original style of handwriting which I processed and was designed. It is written as the FUTARO with the Japanese Chinese character. This Chinese character was simplified from the formal style of handwriting. And I am future-like a figure and gave the worn-out feeling by aging to this character. Since it is printed by RISOGRAPH, printing is reproduced by multiplication with glassiness. Therefore, the portion with which the color has overlapped was transparent and the back color has overlapped. I traced and drew his photograph whose illustration of an artist is a performer by the AI. FUTARO which is a performer is the Folk-Rock musician. I drew the fender tele caster's neck which he has always used regularly. The following is his profile.

 Futaro’s messages in his lyrics permeates in to changing the clock hand into slow flow with the beat over the music divide with warm ambient. He encourages gently people who live the time made closely packed. And the heart of the rich susceptibility sometimes throws social various inconsistencies and questions into relief, and tells the tragedy which man's ego produced. Just like a Bob Marley...

Flyer Design: RIKI with Mutsumi Nishii Live at Cotton Dancer

A happy 420 for every world higher, stoner and the freaks!
This is my latest flyer design work for the Acoustic Live at my friend's bar Cotton Dancer also organize. It's all artworks written by freehand using Illustrator's pen. Therefore, this artwork became the result having the feature of a vector, and the feature of a free hand. I am pleased with it and am often using this technique that the analog united with digital one of this. The designer with this professional design of me whom the amateur made may be the work of a new category called "poor superior one". I printed again using RISOGRAPH. White ink was used for kraft for the first time this time. In the last Flyer, the photograph with the deep back has been transparent on the surface. It is because paper was thin. Since this kraft is somewhat thick, printing on the back is not transparent. RIKI is a Folk musician representing Fukuoka Prefecture in which we live, and he organized big Openair Festival "Rainbow2000 Aso". I have continued looking at his performance from ten years or more before. the hippies of Kyushu gather -- it is ecological and a natural-oriented event is their style. Music is a folk song, a lock, Roots Raggae, Dub Step, Ambient, etc.

Flyer Design: Rock'n'Roll and Jump Blues Record Hop with Live Show!!

I designed this flier 14 years ago. It was the 6th anniversary party held with the restaurant & bar "King Kong" located in the shopping center in Kurosaki, Yahata-nishi-ku, Kitakyushu-City, Fukuoka. My friend was managing the restaurant & bar. I was taking charge of the advertising matter as a designer of his store under exclusive contract. I made many parties and calendars which he sponsors. My friend also owner of "King Kong" loves Rock'n'Roll and Jump Blues. I came out and came back to the trip where it wanders about Asia, 14 years ago. Calcutta in India bore a close resemblance to Britain of the 1950s. People's life, an attitude, and the vigor have just experienced the United States of the 1950s. It seemed that time travel was carried out just like a movie "Back to the future." And I imagined "Enchantment Under the Sea Dance" of the movie "Back to the Future", and this flyer designed it. Record hop and a live show are roaring business, and business had not declined yet in the local side after the collapse of the 'bubble' economy. In the floor, the young man danced Strohl (revue dance performed in a line of a female subject), Bop, Twist, and the jive which symbolize the 1950s, and got drunk wholly with the free drink.

RYPPLE: Timothy's "TUNE iN," 5.0oz Message T-Shirts

This is brand new design of T-shirts from RYPPLE. The product name is "TUNE IN," from one of Timothy Leary's counterculture phrase "Turn on, Tune in, Drop out" in 1967. Leary spoke at the HUMAN BE-IN, 30,000 hippies gathering in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

"Tune In" meant interact harmoniously with the world around you - externalize, materialize, express your new internal perspectives. "Drop out" suggested an active, selective, graceful process of detachment from involuntary or unconscious commitments.

Album Cover Design: Let the Guitar Speak by electro 53

I designed this album cover artwork this month. An album cover is the front of the packaging of a commercially released audio recording product, or album. This artwork made with my client also this album artist. My client given this guitar and amplifier photograph. I made front jacket including inside 2 pages and backside total 4 pages, rear jacket with backside (inside CD tray), side cap, and disc label. I made album title logo, artist logo, and record level logo. I'm very glad my client favorites this design. This pic is not real CD photo. I made crop and paste on blank CD image for finishing product image. I was cut the front jacket image pic with side cap same as rear jacket. It is not so difficulty make myself. I will introduce next time.

electro 53

Electro 53 is instrumental music unit by Takashi Gomi and Syuhei Onga. T-BOLAN's guitarist Takashi Gomi perform the electric guitar like a singing. He is my best client. Syuhei Onga playing base and sound programming. Their sound is the electronica rock. The electric guitar and the base added on the programming track.

Block Copy: an American Diner's Lunch Menu

This is the lunch menu of an American diner which I operated. It finished in the style of a vintage with the title menu which uses the script font of the 1950s. A background emphasizes a high-class feeling in deep brown. The photograph of hamburger sandwiches is close photographed with a zoom lens. The both-sides side was irradiated with the stroboscope flash. Three cooking photographs on the back had a weak light. The logo design of beer was introduced last time. The client offered the menu, the explanatory note of cooking, and the dish. The price of the charge of photography is 1,000 yen per piece. It becomes 8,000 yen the charge of photography with eight photographs. The size of this menu is B4. The charge of design composition work changes to 10000 yen per one side in such volume. This charge is 28000 yen in the charge of block-copy creation, and photography cost. Separately, 3,000 yen was required of printing cost and lamination cost (six-set creation).

American Diner Typography and Caligrapy

This is the typography and calligraphy which I designed. The font used Sarah Script of The Letter Head Font. I designed by Adobe Illutrator for the diner which my friend manages. The shadow and the brightness of this script were created using pass. The scroll calligraphic design was also drawn by pass and pen of the Illustrator.

Saturn and his Ring are Most Beautiful Graphics.

This Saturn photograph was borrowed from National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I am not taking this photograph. Not a color but monochrome cool appearance stimulated my inspiration. I liked Saturn in the solar system planet from young time. The balance of the appearance and a beautiful ring pierced my heart which was a schoolchild those days. Saturn is a big planet to the next of Jupiter in the solar system. This planet where most was covered by gas does not have a concept called surface of the earth. That is, there is no boundary line of the ground and empty like the earth. Most gas is hydrogen. Gas is light. Saturn has the 62 moons. The biggest Titan in the satellite of Saturn is larger than Mercury. A human body is not affected even if man inhales hydrogen. Influence does not have a helium in a human body, either. The atmosphere of Saturn does not affect a human body. However, since there is no oxygen, an oxygen mask is required. Since it is 100 times the earth, if muscle training of the gravity is carried out, it may be satisfactory. But, there is no ground. Therefore, it falls toward the center. Since temperature rises by friction, a protective garment is required. The density of gas becomes high as it falls to the center. Naturally, pressure also becomes high. Since it is windy, cautions are required. Be better not to approach, because very dangerous.

This is a cover art of the music CD with which I dealt in 2007. A client is my friend and is a drummer of a band called JERICHO BUNCH which loves music called Psychobilly supremely. I who have taken charge of the art of the first full album that is not compilation was honorable. This draft was drawn according to his image. It is not my way of thinking. I drew the near rough with the pencil first. Then, I inked with the pen used by comics.

My friend's diner supply bigger burger and American foods. Thant's why I draw like this illustration. Jerome John "Jerry" Garcia (August 1, 1942 – August 9, 1995) was an American Psychedelic Jam Band known as tender acoustic guitar and vocal for band the Grateful Dead. I designed this T-shirts to dedicated and respected for Jerry and his lifework.
He became a star of the galaxy...  And it dwelt in the heart of DEAD HEADS as God...

I customized ASTRO:LOUNGE Import and Designs web store. It is the Japanese rental shopping cart site. I edited some HTML code and CSS code. But still not complete yet. I introduce some customize CSS code in next post.

Flyer Design: GAOWN Dance Hall Reggae Party

I designed new party flyer. Title logo using "KANJI" the Japanese character from Chinese character. Crocodile illustration print the fluorescence orange like a silk screen print. It is because it printed on natural paper that a background is a natural color. The wave illustration in the mouth of an alligator is the handwriting by pen using Adobe Illustrator. the bubble dot also handwritten. This was quoted from the flyer currently used by the dance hall reggae of the 1990s.



Also I made English version, but client liked the Chinese character. The English version which seems to be lovely is introduced here. Though it was regrettable, the poster of A3 size which I proposed was dismissed on t problem of a client's budget.  This flyer only for postcard.

"RYPPLE" The New Brand

We started the new garments brand inspired from Grateful Dead. The name is "RYPPLE" from our favorite song "ripple". 1972 and 1973 is our birth year. We also like from 1972 to 1973 live performance and poster art of the Grateful Dead. Already I make some logo and sticker design. I introduce one of them.

Order Flyer "VINYL PASSION 3"

This is order flyer of the poptoonstudio created newly. A theme is black parson plays groove. The image of a 7-inch vinyl board has been arranged in the center. The logo imaged from 1970's Rock as classical and bold. Font  arranged from Letter Head Font's Boston Truck Style. I processed the curl part of this Boston Truck Style. "WILD WAX presents" and "for Dope Musik Lover ..." The font of used Copperplate Gothic. This flyer made from yellow and black 2 colors.
The client left all the designs to me. I was able to do work smoothly. It will succeed, if you want to change a hairstyle, and all are left to the hair designer having good sense.
