JERICHO BUNCH Album Artwork

Poptoonstudio handled the album artwork of three piece band "JERICHO BUNCH" of wood base ERI with the Inoue brother. This is famous psychobilly indie band in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. The name of "JERICHO BUNCH" out on sale album. Psychobilly is a musical genre that contains the PUNK element by the rockabilly in the 1950's, develops, and was born in the 1980's. THE CRAMPS and BATMOBILE are famous. The fashion and scream to associate horror are features.

This album art was requested from NAOKI of the drum. The photograph in the cover is the one having taken they, by confidence,The contrast was raised with the Photoshop, and the photograph was converted into two steps (pink and the black).

BIG FROG Kyushu Tour Poster

BIG FROG was JAM band that represented Japan. The design of this flier and the poster is the one before BIG FROG dissolves to Kyushu when coming to a live tour. BIG FROG at that time sold clothes etc. of the hemp material by live opening the doors with apparel brand THC(Tokyo Hemp Connection).

The BIG FROG robot is controlled by the guitar, the drum, and the song. They came from Tokyo from the missile and the attack to Kyushu defense from the terrorist state. The centere side of the cockpit is equipped with the speaker of 5000W by the stereo, and a jammin' groovy sound wraps Kyushu.
The BIG FROG robot is a mechanism (crimsoning of eyes when the missile is smoked, the flows of the liquid that contains the bufotenine from the back of eyes, and going out).
It became it so when aiming at a psychedelic poster like Wes Wilson. TIPI was put up in a live place in Kyushu various places (Fukuoka, Aso, and Kagoshima).

2007 New Year's Card

This New Year's card is the one that poptoonstudio was sent to the customer by E-mail. 12 animals that are called a sexagenary cycle are allocated as much as China in Japan every year. 2007 year was a wild boar written left bottom. It is written, "Comming Spring" in upper right by the Chinese character. The crane (country bird in Japan) that flies toward the sun is a happy symbol. The pine tree is drawn in the New Year's card as a happy plant, too. Mt. Fuji drawn at the center is red because of dyeing to the morning sun. It draws by ukiyoe painter and Katsushika Hokusai's "Red Fuji" in Edo period, requests, and is famous in Japan as a happy theme.

HABIT STORE Decal

This decal design is for the humburger restaurant "HABIT STORE" in 2007. Written by bézier curve using Adobe Illustrator. This design was made based on the form of a character and the atmosphere in the 1960's. However, this work was not adopted to our regret by the client.

The TRAVELLERS Live Poster

This is a Jump Blues Band "The Travellers" Live poster. Last 2007, Live party at my friends cafe "CHEKA". The Travelers is famous as the jump blues band in Japan.

420 tours Decal

This is decal of walking tours of the best cannabis cafes in Amsterdam by name of "420 tours". There having a lot of cafes can be smoke the cannabis in legality in Amsterdam. It is a decal to do the guide and the tour that comes round walking in the cafe.

KING KONG DINER 2008 Calender

In this design is a calendar of "King Kong dinner" in 2008 of the shop of the hamburger boast. The reason for the owner in this dinner is that it likes jazz, jump blues, and rock'n'roll in becoming jazzy finish. Everything is made by the illustrator.

MARULA Flyer and Logo

This is my friend's apparel shop in Fukuoka Japan last. There were sell hemp clothings and some Japaanese hippie brand. They chiefly Tokyo Hemp Connection, PHATEE WARE, GRATEFUL DEAD and Skatebrands.

This design was motif requested from "Mexico" by the shop owner. Therefore, I arranged its coca leaves in four corners. And, peyote flower, cactus and mariachi were arranged. The logo of MARULA was made based on KALUHA of the coffee liqueur.

I made the clipping mask by passing the Photoshop. And, the logo was traced by the illustrator's vector drawing.

This is indie brand "Charmal of Saga Shamba"'s woven label and logo design in 2007.

DYUMBO Electronica Music

This site of "The Sixtiy One" where the music creator and the indie music artist like my space up-load, and deliver music. It moves to the page to which it can listen to the electronica music that poptoonstudio (Dyumbo) created with the sequencer when the image above is clicked.

GUITAR PANDA live at ASTROLOUNGE Poster and Flyer

This is fyer(A5 size) and poster(A3 size) design of GUITAR PANDA acoustic live at ASTROLOUNGE Cafe and Designs last April 2010. This freehand illustration use only pen tool of Adobe Illustrator.

This poster uses a special print. Ink is fluorescence orange and a black. Paper is thin, and a natural color that has not been bleached. You can see the fiber of paper. Its organic and recycling.

This poster still has the stock. If you want this poster, I can send it. Because weight is light even if it is far from Japan, such a carriage might be not high. However, the crease and the wrinkle will be anxious. It packs it with $10 as a packing fee in the corrugated cardboard and the Ziploc besides the carriage at that time.

Loco Moco Plate Flyer

This Loco Moco Plate is lunch menu of ASTROLOUNGE Cafe and Designs. Loco Moco is fried egg and gravy source with humberger on the rice from Hawaiian food. I took Loco Moco photo and lil bit added contrast on the Photoshop. And pasted the American font on the photo by Illustrator.

If you make like this flyer, total design price become about $50. When 1000 postcard size flyers are printed, it is needs about $60 more (needs aditional shipping cost).

Detail of the price:
First of all, it is necessary for taking the photograph for about $10. Next, it is necessary for processing the photograph (contrast and color equation) for about $20. The character putting fee by Illustrator is necessary for the end for about $20. However, this is a minimum, necessary cost. If it is necessary to go to distant ground to take a picture of the commodity, the transportation and various cost are generated. If you use the same photograph and it wants other designs, $20 per one pattern will be added.

Dr.TOSH? "Vaga! Raga!" Cover Artwork

This is 2nd solo album of bassist Dr.TOSH? a.k.a. Toshimitsu Nagai ex."Rosa Luxenburg" and "BO GUMBOS". Poptoonstudio designed CD cover artwork(front top cover, Back cover, forward cover, inside art and illustrrations, CD label design and everything design.

It met Dr.TOSH? to me in the openair gathering festival "Nijino Misaki Matsuri" held in Aso in Japan in around 2000. At that time, Dr.TOSH? acted as a bassist of the band "Aqua bomb". The guitar of "Aqua bomb" at that time is Marron a.k.a. Yasuhiko Tanaka who is acting by the name "dub marronics" now. Dub marronics plays original DeLay work and the one person plays psychedelic music of guitar electronica by sampling the reverberation.
Donto is guitar vocal of BO GUMBOS he performed to "Niji no
Misaki Matsuri" at that time by solo. In some open-air music festivals, it met TOSH. And, when Dr.TOSH? and restarting in the open-air music festival "Jugoya Otsukisan" done in Yamaguchi where I had handled the poster and the flyer, he terribly liked the poster.

This album artwork received the request directly from Dr.TOSH?. His hope was for "VAGA! RAGA!" to dash out from the Magic lamp like The Thousand and One Nights and to have wanted it based on Arab and red brown like India. The font script was hope that also Arabic streamline. I added the ribbon based on a counterplan and free font in 1950's American. In addition, a top jacket was completed repeating several-time corrections. The image of the lamp was obtained from the Internet, and the illustration of Magic Lamp was traced on the Adobe Illustrator.


The other side of the surface after it becomes like the booklet ,in a word, the back becomes it like this. When the booklet is expanded, the illustration is connected. The original label mark "Flying Fuji" of the mark and Dr.TOSH? of credit, description of the CD handling notes, trademark of poptoonstudio, and record label "Wild 7" has been described on the reverse. The illustration was traced on the Adobe Illustrator based on the photograph in Arabia.


It is a preview of the artist name and the album name of the jacket and the CD side where the name of a song in the back of CD was described. The screen tone of Adobe Photoshop was used for his old photograph because of wanting TOSH.

Minami Masato & Midorigumi Live Flyer

This is acoustic live of Masato Minami and Midorigumi at BAR DIG IT! DIG IT! in Fukuoka Japan. Masato Minami is special guest of "SHIP OF FOOLS", last 29th april 2009.

Masato Minami is a valuable person who hands down the folk-rock to represent Japan by a psychedelic culture.
The Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Spanish department did Odyssey to the leave of absence reporting and the United States, Mexico, and Europe for two years while attending school in the latter half on the Tokyo birth and the 1960's 1944. After it returns home, the Vietnam war and it begins to sing the message song of making by oneself in original and the antiwar rally etc. of the historical background said the question. It participates in the folk song team Wataru Takada et al. and "Agora". First album "Kaikisen"(Regression line) is announced in 1971, and it influences Shigeru Izumiya.
