2010 to 2011

I record the photograph and the comment here for the memo of daily life. This is a record that traveled around Japan with my wife between 2010 and 2011. These photographs were taken with PENTAX OPTIO I-10. This top photograph is Sunset from Seto Big Bridge in Japan. The setting sun inserted through wisps of cloud becomes a backlight, and the reflection of a beautiful surface of the water is shown. Our travel starts from "Read More".

This is a photograph of the embarkation ticket vending machine of the Miyajima port in Hiroshima. When a new year begins in Japan, it is custom to three Shinto shrines to visit. We went to Itsukushima Shinto Shrine that existed in the Miyajima island famous in Japan on December 31, 2010. It was very cold on this day, and exceeded -1 degree by the temperature. It becomes impossible for 1000 people or more to move by car on the expressway in the north because of a sudden heavy snow. And, the Self Defense Forces mobilized and gasoline and food were distributed to people.

The price of the ferry for Miyajima is a round trip 340 yen. You can check timetable and information by English in HERE.

This is a waiting room in the Miyajima ferry port.

This is a garden lantern of Japan. The name is "TO-RO" made from the stone.

The TO-RO like MOAI.

Itsukushima Shinto shrine entrance that branch shop lines. A lot of people have come to visit a shrine.

There is a deer that becomes familiar with the person in Miyajima. Why these deer we can see in Miyajima? These deer become problems recently. The deer lives in the Miyajima island from 6000 years ago. At that time, it was about 100 numbers. It is made to food by the Pacific War, and the number of deer has decreased by hunting of sports of the U.S. military. The deer is assumed to be god's use in Shintoism. Island people and Shinto shrine might have thought about the moneymaking by using the deer. They kept giving food so that the deer should not watch people. When the number of deer decreased, the deer was brought from Nara. The number of deer has increased gradually. Excrement increased when the number of deer increased and it reeled it. They entered the private house, and ate plants in the garden. The city and the committee in Miyajima starved the deer and to reduce the number, decided the following promise. 1. Food is not given. 2. Garbage is lost. It was stopped though the food given to the deer was sold to the tourist for the moneymaking. The deer was gradually emaciated. Child deer died first because not powerful. The corner is cut in deer's male the horsefly. This problem is true of the law of the jungle that people sacrifice the deer for money. And, it is a difference of the opinion of irresponsible people away from the reality thought that killing is poor.

It often soars in the sea and the TORII that stands is seen in the Shinto shrine in Japan.

The TORII is roost of the chicken bird of Shinto's angel. Itsukushima Shinto Shrine has 500 in Japan. The head temple is in Miyajima. There is 16m height of the torii. Itsukushima Shinto Shrine in Miyajima is recognized to the World Heritage of UNESCO(United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Details in Itsukushima Shinto Shrine can be seen even in Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itsukushima_Shrine

Why this TORII stand for myself? The bottom in the sea is sands. The wind and the earthquake can be stood, too. This torii is not buried under the soil deeply. The buried pillar is about one meter. The secret answer becomes the next. It is a roof of the torii like the box. There is a stone of seven tons in the box. And, six pillars support weight. The torii will fall if they are two pillars. A special wedge is used for the part where the pillar intersects with the roof. Movement and the warp of the pillar and the roof are naturally absorbed. The bottom of the sea part arranges preparations, and assumes taking the place the base. Result of ancient wisdom exactly. Because only this has been begun hundreds of years ago, it is surprised again.

This is a lantern and a corridor. Itsukushima Shinto Shrine was built in 593 years. The Shinto shrine that had been connected in a present corridor in 1168 afterwards was built. The building where the vermilion that builts in this sea is beautiful enchants people.

There were quite a lot of people this day. It was possible to form a line to the place where the money put offering. The ferry doesn't take a rest and the New Year's Eve and the new year of every year are plied. There are a lot of young people at midnight. We saw the young person who got drunk on sake and vomiting in this beautiful building. We met the friend. It encountered them at the entrance in the Shinto shrine. The wife bought the dumpling in the branch shop. There were a lot of shops that were closed at night it. However, there was an open souvenir shop. Because it was very cold, it was not possible to endure.

1st JAN.2011 Morning

We received the morning with the economy hotel of the Hiroshima city where the check-in had been done beforehand.

We can stay to reserve by the Internet very cheaply. It was 13600 yen for two people for two days. The view of the room was very good by the sixth floor.

It was very fine day. We went to town in Hiroshima for lunch. However, the shop is not open for the New Year holiday. It met the friend who had met yesterday again by chance. It entered the okonomiyaki shop together all. The okonomiyaki of Hiroshima is different from Osaka. The flour softened by water is thinly first extended on the iron plate. Next, a lot of carved cabbages are put. And, it turns it inside out by Hera with the crape of flour. It suppresses it by Hera. The egg is burnt in the different location. Moreover, the cabbage and the crape are put. It completes putting some sauce on. Eating by handling only small Hera is manners. Afterwards, it separated from the friend and we walked in the shopping street. It came round the toy shop and the cosmetics shop. It entered the family restaurant of the Italian to drink coffee. It decided to return because it had become sleepy. It walked to the Genbaku Dome district walking, it rid a streetcar, and it returned. Food was bought in the supermarket near the hotel. Sake and it won while seeing TV at the hotel. It is very warm because the hotel is a central heating. It settles down because it is a narrow room. We were able to spend very good time in a place and atmosphere away from daily life.

2nd JAN. 2011 Morning

We took the adequate sleep and checked out of a hotel. It abandoned it because of the heavy snow though it was going to go to Grand Shrine of Izumo in the north and to eat the buckwheat. It decided to go to Shikoku because the wife had not been to Shikoku.

On the highway of Hiroshima to Takamatsu.

The light of the sun that inserts it between a lot of sparse clouds is very beautiful.

This is a photograph when entering strait Ohashi. It was not delicious because there were quite a lot of people though it had eaten the Onomichi ramen in the parking area in the highway.

Hitsuishi Island Parking Area of the highway. It was not so cold on this day. Because it is a holiday price of 1,000 yen even if the highway goes to where, it is very crowded.

There is an island where 3000 is exceeded in the Inland Sea.

We crossed the bridge and discovered a mysterious shop near Marugame in Kagawa Prefecture. Strange objet lines up on the rooftop...

This is like the hero of fairy tale "Urashima and the Kingdom Beneath the Sea" of Japan. But he riding bottle not turtle.

Apparently, this is like the liquor store.

This is Urashima to ride on the turtle. But put on the palette.

This is a signboard of the main. It is written, "Meiji era castle" by the Chinese character. The subname is written, "Amusement park of sake".

Does this arm operate?

It is an entrance in the store. The fabulous dolphinlike fish overflows and the originality.

When fairy tale "Momotaro" of Japan gives birth from the peach, this is like the replica. The nature born time rolls head bandeu and roots out the demon be full.

We headed from Marugame to Takamatsu. The purpose of it is to eat the Sanuki noodle. In the Sanuki noodle, it is a feature that KOSHI is strong. KOSHI has the texture in a noodle of pasta that seems to be al dente.

We passed over Takamatsu without getting off the car.

We headed from Takamatsu to Kochi. We ate in the noodle shop named Hanamaru along the national road. It searched for the motel because the hotel had not been gotten. However, it decided to look for by another because there were only several motels in Kochi, and externals and the price were bad. We headed from Kochi to Shimanto districts. The motel was found along the national road that. It was very cold when entering the room. It was a staying 6000 yen. There have not service breakfast. Heating did not work, and it took the bath and it slept at once in the cold of the remainder. The checkout was 10 o'clock. A sudden schedule change is serious.

Morning, January 3, 2011
We put the hot water in the powder soup and bread bought in the convenience store and finished light breakfast. The purpose was not found by us. It decided to come round it in Japan because several regional Bussan shops "Roadside station" were in each prefecture.

We arrived at Shimanto town flowing Shimanto river. We visited "Youing Shimanto" at the sightseeing Bussan center. The Bussan center is a market where good quality farm products and the special product harvested on the site are offered cheaply. Meal, a fast food, a rest room, a shower, a free guide book, and access information, etc. are included in the site. There might be free Internet PC in "Roadside station", too. Ryoma Sakamoto is feudal soldier famous in Kochi. His goods are sold in here. Ryoma Sakamoto is a samurai in the Kochi in which it was alive between 1836 and 1867. He is handed down as heroic existence in Japan now. See refer the Wikipedia link is here >> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakamoto_Ry%C5%8Dma When feudal politics of Edo period ended, Ryoma Sakamoto took an active part. Those days' Japan had closed the country. It was able to oppose the cannon that the introduced overseas ship had because there was only a coarse cannon in Japan. Ryoma Sakamoto felt the crisis of Japan. He gathered his companion of the same idea. Ryoma Sakamoto studied English, and went to foreign countries. It fought against a conservative government also though he was a master swordsman. Ryoma Sakamoto was assassinated from a government at that time at the time of be not permitted a leftist idea. He died of 36-year-old youth.

This is a photograph in the dining room of Youing Shimanto.

I ordered the set of the buckwheat and the dispersal sushi. The buckwheat is a noodle that is contained a lot of buckwheat flours. The noodle cuts easily, and the buckwheat with a lot of buckwheat flours is rough, and is inelastic.

We arrived at roadside station "TOWA" of Shimanto River. There is the remainder of the heavy snow that fell the other day.

This is Shimanto River. It is a magnificent river like Ganga River when comparing it in India. Shimanto River of 196km in the total length is one of the famous rivers in Japan. In Shimanto River, weirs are the fewest only rivers in Japan. Therefore, rafting, the river descending, and canoeing are possible.
